ABOUT THE JOB
Olivia Hospital & Clinic is looking for an Advanced Practice Clinician to provide personal, direct primary care to patients with acute and/or chronic illnesses in collaboration with physicians. This is a part-time (roughly 36 hours per week), Monday through Friday position located in our Olivia Clinic. This position will be expected to work a Saturday Walk-in Clinic rotation and offers opportunity for nursing home rounding.
Responsibilities:
Assess patient to determine physical and emotional needs. Performs a complete physical exam and records findings. Orders appropriate laboratory and diagnostic procedures. Prescribes and administers medications and injections according to physician directions. Maintains and reviews patient records, charts, and other pertinent information. Posts tests and examination results. Performs procedures approved within scope of practice and as instructed by physician. Interviews and advises patients regarding health and illness prevention. Instructs patients regarding medications and treatment instructions. Establish patient specific goals that are consistent with the overall plan of care. Modifies, implements and evaluates individualized teaching plan in order to restore, maintain or promote health. Collaborates with other health team members in intra/inter departmental issue recognition and resolution. Ability to utilize electronic medical record effectively. Documents accurately and legibly. Promotes and assists others to practice safe work habits; identifies and reports health and safety hazards; offers suggestions and participates in corrective action.
ABOUT YOU
Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner program If Physician Assistant: Physician Assistant certification from the National Committee for Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) and licensed by the MN Board of Medical Practice. If Nurse Practitioner: MN APRN license and certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner by a national agency recognized by the MN Board of Nursing Basic Life Support (BLS) or Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) or Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) or Cardiac Advanced Life Support (CALS) Drug Enforcement Administration Registration
