Nurse Practitioner Vacancy Date: December 20, 2024 Salary: Based upon experience and education Work year: Twelve (12) Months Start Date: February 15, 2025 Position Summary: Oversight of RNs & LPNs at nine (9) district sites Qualifications: + A minimum of one (1) year of successful experience as a Nurse Practitioner or two years of registered professional nursing experience in Pediatrics, Family Medicine or School Health. + A Bachelor's Degree or higher or acceptable experience. + A strong knowledge of organizational structure, goals and objectives. + The ability to articulate ideas clearly, orally and in writing. + A good knowledge of health principles, practices and techniques. Performance Responsibilities: + Managing staffing & coverage (building level; 1:1; transportation, field trips, float nurse, etc.) + Performs mandated school health appraisals, student working paper physicals, sports physicals; + Reviews medical histories and documentations for accommodations; + Works with the Department of Special Education - assisting with OTs, PTs, out-of-district placements, & CSE meetings; + Responsible for the implementation of the District's Wellness Policy, district procedures and protocols related to food allergy safety, and inclusion of students with food allergies and intolerances; + Ensures student compliance with New York State immunization requirements; + Writes standing orders; + Completes mandated reporting to NYSDOH; + Works with Athletics for concussion clearances and placement process; + Works with Student Services and contracted agencies; + Adheres to medical and nursing protocols; + Interviewing, hiring, & training of new nursing staff; + Arrange continuing education for nurses; + Other duties as deemed necessary within the realm of school health and wellness, as assigned by the Superintendent of Schools; Application Procedure: + Candidates should complete an on-line application by accessing the following website: (www.wnyric.org/application).
