Our physician led medical group enjoys an excellent reputation with patients and the medical community, offering primary care, urgent care and more than 30 different specialties.** *Interventional Pain/PM&R Nurse Practitioner (APRN) or Physician Assistant Responsibilities:* * Provide acute and chronic pain specialty care with the cognizance or supervision of a physician. These include musculoskeletal, orthopedic, and spine diagnoses and their appropriate management. * Provide immediate evaluation and management of emergent problems as they occur. * Collect and record, in proper format, medical and social historical data appropriate to the patient's condition. Perform an orthopedic/spine physical examination and/or a pain focused examination. * Outpatient clinic duties to include seeing postoperative patients, follow up appointments, and new patient referrals. * Responsible for examination of patients and formulation of differential diagnostic plans. Define and order required diagnostic testing including imaging. Interpret exam findings and test results, and implementation of treatment plans. * Direct the care provided by nurses and technicians in the clinic. * Recognize more complicated cases, initiate treatment (if appropriate), and refer to a higher level of medical expertise for diagnosis and/or treatment. Plan and initiate proper treatment within defined privileges and the scope of practice of the facility. * Communicate to other health personnel either orally or in writing the findings, diagnosis, and planned treatment regimen as well as answer any questions from the team and/or patients. Stabilize and manage a patient in a medical or surgical emergency and/or transfer to physician care. Maintain inpatient and outpatient medical records. * Perform clinic injections and other invasive procedures as directed by the supervising physician.
