Title: Nurse Practitioner Fellowship, Lewiston What You’ll Do: + A yearlong fellowship program which will prepare a nurse practitioner for specialty certification and practice in hospice and palliative care. + Learning will be primarily through direct, supervised clinical care in a variety of sites including hospital and hospice inpatient, ambulatory care and home care. + Training focused on symptom management, communication, prognostication, establishing and documenting goals of care for patients with a wide array of serious illnesses. + Clinical experience will be augmented by didactic and project-based learning. There will be opportunities to work with multiple members of the interdisciplinary team, including physicians, social workers and chaplaincy. What You’ll Bring: + Current Nurse Practitioner license in the state of Maine or ability to obtain a Maine license. + 2 Years of recent NP experience preferred. + Certification in area of focus which must include care of adults. + DEA license for prescribing controlled substances. + Completion of online application with curriculum vitae. + Personal statement describing interest in MCPM NP fellowship program, learning objectives for the fellowship year and goals to advance palliative and hospice care in our communities (500-word limit). + Ability to participate full time (40 hours per week) in the fellowship program, including travel to multiple clinical sites across central and southern Maine.
