Job Description:

JOB SUMMARY

Marshfield Clinic Health System is seeking a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner to:

Attend high risk deliveries and provide medical management as a member of our multi-disciplinary group.Perform routine clinical procedures independently including providing resuscitation and stabilization of newborn, endotracheal tube placement/intubation, PICC line insertion, umbilical catheter insertion (arterial/venous), peripheral arterial line insertion, chest tube insertion and removal, thoracentesis, lumber puncture, double or partial volume exchange transfusion and neonatal transport.

This role will be a shift model consisting of 12 or 14 hour shifts.

Marshfield Medical Center is a Level II Adult and Pediatric Trauma Center and has northern and central Wisconsin's only children's hospital. The campus includes 314 inpatient beds with a 24 bed pediatrics unit, and our Level III NICU has cared for thousands of high-risk infants from 24-42 weeks gestational-age for more than 50 years

 

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION

For positions requiring education beyond a high school diploma or equivalent, educational qualifications must be from an institution whose accreditation is recognized by the Council for Higher Education and Accreditation.

Minimum Required:

Master’s Degree as a Nurse Practitioner or Doctor of Nurse PractitionerSuccessful completion of a formal nurse practitioner program that prepares neonatal nurse practitioners and awards graduate degrees. The program shall be accredited by a Commission on Collegiate Nursing (CCNE) or National League of Nursing Accrediting Council (NLNAC)

Preferred/Optional: None

EXPERIENCE 

3-5 years of clinical experience as an RN, and/or, 1-3 years of experience as a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner in a level 3 NICU (preferred)

CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES 

The following licensure(s), certification(s), registration(s), etc., are required for this position.  Licenses with restrictions are subject to review to determine if restrictions are substantially related to the position.

Minimum Required:

License requirement- Active RN license and an Advanced Practice Nurse Prescriber Certification for the State of WI.Certification requirement- Current certification by the American Nurses Association (ANA), the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP), or an equivalent body recognized by the state of Wisconsin for care of the Adult Patient Population.Current Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) License. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) awarded by the American Heart Association (AHA) within three months of hire.
