Title:  Nurse Practitioner

Location:  Farmington, NM

Job summary:

Vighter, LLC is seeking a Full Time Nurse Practitioner in Farmington, NM. Nurse Practitioners (NPs) are advanced practice registered nurses (APRNs) who have additional responsibilities and can perform many of the duties traditionally handled by physicians.

Principle Accountabilities:

The Nurse Practitioner is responsible for complete medical screening for each child within 48-hours of arrival to the medical facility.  Nurse Practitioner will refer patients, to hospital or medical specialists.  Nurse Practitioner will maintain case files and databases in accordance with policies and procedures.  Nurse Practitioner duties can vary depending on their specialization, work setting, and state regulations, but generally include:

Patient Assessment and Diagnosis: Conduct comprehensive physical exams and health assessments. Diagnose and treat acute and chronic illnesses. Prescribing Medications: Prescribe medications and other treatments. Monitor and manage patients’ medication regimens. Developing Treatment Plans: Create and manage individualized treatment plans. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care. Performing Procedures: Perform certain medical procedures, such as suturing wounds, administering immunizations, and conducting minor surgical interventions. Patient Education and Counseling: Educate patients and their families about managing illnesses and overall health. Provide counseling on lifestyle changes and preventive healthcare practices. Ordering and Interpreting Diagnostic Tests: Order laboratory tests, imaging studies, and other diagnostic procedures. Interpret test results and incorporate them into the patient’s treatment plan. Health Promotion and Disease Prevention: Engage in activities that promote health and prevent disease. Conduct routine screenings and vaccinations. Collaborative Care: Work collaboratively with physicians, specialists, and other healthcare providers. Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and case conferences. Documentation and Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and detailed patient records. Ensure documentation meets legal and regulatory requirements. Leadership and Administration: Take on leadership roles within healthcare teams and organizations. Participate in policy development, quality improvement initiatives, and healthcare administration.

Knowledge & Skills:

Must be proficient in English (Read/Write/Speak – Native Proficiency) Must have exceptional clinical skill and ability.

Education:

Must be a graduate of an approved school of nursing and maintain a current, unencumbered nurse practitioner license.   Must be certified in the state work is to be conducted.

Physical Requirements:

Must be able to sit for more than 8 hours per day. Must be willing to work overtime if necessary. Must be able to use an elevator or walk up and down stairs. Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs. and carry up to 10ft. Must be able to routinely grasp or handle objects, use finger dexterity, bend elbows/knees and reach above and below shoulders. Must be able to read and interpret handwritten and typewritten print. Must be able to communicate by voice and detect sound by ear. Must be able to perform duties in an indoor or outdoor environment. Must be able to pass a criminal background investigation. Must undergo urine drug testing.

Qualifications:

Current RN and APRN licensure per state requirements or NLC as applicable. Minimum two (2) years ICU, PCU, Stepdown or Telehealth bedside experience. Required Certification: BLS, APRN and ACLS.
