Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) - Critical Care Intensivist
Job Description

JOB SUMMARY:  Under the direction of the Medical Director Critical Care Services, the Critical Care Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant will assist attending physicians in all aspects of general hospital care for critical care patients.  All work will be performed in close collaboration with attending physicians responsible for the patient.  The Critical Care NP or PA will be credentialed through the Maryland Board as well as the health system to provide advanced clinical procedures (e.g. central lines, chest tube insertion, intubations, etc).

Qualifications

Education & Training:  Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant with appropriate licensure and credentialing to practice under the supervision of a physician in the state of Maryland. 

Credentialing through the Maryland Board as well as the health system in the provision of advanced practice skills.

Work Orientation & Experience:  A minimum of five years’ experience as a midlevel provider in an acute care setting is preferred; Experience performing procedures in an ICU setting as a provider is required.
