Summary of Essential Duties:

As a Vascular Surgery Nurse Practitioner, you will provides services in the inpatient and outpatient setting, including managing, planning, and coordinating of all aspects of care for patientsProvide consultative services within the scope of serviceObtain and perform history and physical examinationsRecord and interpret pertinent data (i.e., labs, diagnostic studies, progress notes, etc.), including writing ordersEvaluate, diagnose and treat patientsWrite progress notes, collate records using the electronic medical recordCoordinate ongoing overall patient care with physician, staff, nursing staff and other ancillary care providers to ensure treatment plans are implementedMaintain communication with patients and families regarding careDemonstrates skills and knowledge necessary to deliver care appropriate to the appropriate patient population, including knowledge of growth and development, the ability to obtain and interpret information to identify patient needs, and provide the care neededServe as a patient advocate throughout the care process, and represents the medical center at regional and national meetings/conferences
Qualifications

Education:

Master of Nursing Degree requiredGraduate of an accredited Nurse practitioner program required

License/Certifications:

Current State of California Registered Nurse and Nurse Practitioner License requiredNational Certification as an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner by respective accredited professional nursing organization such as the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) requiredCurrent NP Furnishing License requiredDEA license requiredACLS certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross requiredAGACNP strongly preferred

Experience:

A minimum of 3 years of acute care nursing experience requiredAt least 2 years of experience managing vascular surgery patient population preferredInpatient NP experienceProfessional experience as a Nurse Practitioner preferred
