Job Description

UM Upper Chesapeake Health (UM UCH), a member of the University of Maryland Medical System (UMMS), has a Full-time employed position available for a Palliative Care Nurse Practitioner to join their team at UM Upper Chesapeake Medical Center in Bel Air, MD. 

Nurse Practitioner Job Details:

Provide compassionate and comprehensive palliative care to patients in both inpatient and outpatient settingsWork alongside a multidisciplinary palliative care team dedicated to patient-centered, compassionate care.Position is responsible for performing medical and psychosocial evaluation of patients and manage symptoms to improve patients' quality of life.Educate patients and families about care options and support them through decision-making processes for goals of careCollaborate with colleagues at UM Upper Chesapeake Health and University of Maryland Medical System to promote best practice and high-quality care.Supportive hospital leadership for program growth and expansion of service delivery.Opportunity available to advance skills and knowledge through training, education, and certification programs.Promote work-life balance with Monday through Friday work schedule. No weekends, no call requirements.Experienced nurse practitioners with experience or strong interest in palliative care or hospice are encouraged to apply.

Qualifications

Education & Training: Nurse Practitioner with appropriate Maryland licensure and credentialing to practice under the supervision of a physician in the state of Maryland. ANCC or Palliative & Hospice Medicine certification is preferred.

Work Orientation & Experience: A minimum of five (5) years of direct patient care experience in internal medicine or palliative care, hospice. Experience is appropriate to the management of chronic disease, end of life, comfort care and goals of care.
