The Knight Cardiovascular Institute (KCVI) is recognized as a top integrated center for cardiovascular clinical care, translational research and professional training in all aspects of heart and vascular disease. Guided by a multi-disciplinary approach, researchers and clinicians drive a vibrant translational research program, which focuses on delivering the latest knowledge and cutting-edge care to patients. Specifically, research at KCVI seeks to improve patient outcomes by achieving earlier diagnosis of disease, more accurate monitoring of its progression, and tailoring therapy to the molecular basis of disease.
Function/Duties of PositionThe Advanced Practice Provider will provide both inpatient and outpatient initial consultation for Complex Heart Valve Clinic patients as well as consultative follow up and care pre and post procedures. You will be directed/supervised by Heart Valve team physicians, to include invasive and non-invasive cardiologists and surgeons that work together in a management team. This position works with students, residents and fellows in teaching about the consistent standard of care within the Complex Heart Valve Clinic, as well as supporting the orientation and training of new staff caring for Complex Heart Valve Clinic patients.
Responsibilities will include
Evaluation and consultative management of outpatient clinic initial consultation.Evaluation and consultative management of inpatient consultations.Inpatient pre and post procedural care and management.Outpatient valvular heart disease and post procedural cardiac care.Coordination and management of care through industry and investigator-initiated research trials along with team of research associates.Management of pre-clinic screening to include safety and management of contrast computed tomography scans, transesophageal echocardiograms and cardiac stress testing.Coordination of patient care with outside agencies and community providers. Assures and optimizes patient and family self-management.Provides back up and oversight to Complex Valve Coordinator.Provides clinical context and insight for research associates for clinical trials management. Current Nurse Practitioner license for the state of OregonState of Oregon Nurse Practitioner Prescriptive PrivilegesACNP or AGACNP required for inpatient servicesACLS and BLS certificationPhysician Assistant:
