Mountain View Hospital is looking for a Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant with experience in women's health to join our team at The Healing Sanctuary!

JOB SUMMARY:  Medical provider. Evaluate and treat primary care patients in a traditional, integrative, and holistic medical clinic.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Evaluate and treat patients with acute minor medical illness, minor acute exacerbations of chronic illness, and minor injuries. Perform minor office procedures such as laceration repairs, splints, cyst or toenail excision, abscess incision and drainage, etc. Evaluate and provide appropriate stabilization for patients with acute serious medical conditions or injuries and facilitate transfer as appropriate to an emergency facility or hospital. Evaluate, treat and provide follow-up care of patients with work-related injuries, requesting referral when appropriate. Perform wellness physicals, work-related physicals (such as DOT, respirator, pre-employment) and sports physicals. Manage the patient’s care in a timely manner and maintain a level of productivity that is equivalent to the other providers on staff. Interact with office, laboratory, radiology, and nursing staff as part of the patient care process. Perform required quality assurance steps in the patient care process. Interpret laboratory, radiology, EKG and basic pulmonary function tests. Thoroughly and accurately document every patient encounter. Bill appropriately for each patient care visit. Respond to requests from the hospital QMP (qualified medical personnel), via telephone or in person as appropriate, for management of hospital walk-in patients. Respond to MVH for inpatient Code Blue when there is no other provider physically present in the building. Respond as appropriate to any activation of a local or statewide Disaster Code or Multi-casualty Incident (MSI). Handle all patient evaluations and transfers in compliance with federal EMTALA Regulations. Interface, as appropriate and necessary, with providers and medical personnel within and outside of Mountain View Hospital whenever necessary to ensure good patient care. Serve as the Team Leader for your assigned shift if you are the most medically qualified personnel. This may involve supervising or providing back up to other Nurse Practitioners or Physician’s Assistants.
