The Specialty/Invasive Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) will work in a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment within the Cardiac Surgery Clinic The Specialty/Invasive NP or PA will be responsible for the assessment, diagnosis, treatment, education, consultation, and care coordination as a first line provider to patients and their families. Provides inpatient and/or outpatient medical care. Works in collaboration with attending physicians, advanced practice providers, consultants, house officers, nurses, and other members of the medical care team to ensure that patient outcomes are achieved safely and efficiently. Specific procedures as per credentialing as indicated by training and experience. Cardiovascular and previous clinic experience is preferred, not required

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

Master's degree in nursing -OR- Bachelor's Degree or Completion of an AMA approved Physician Assistant program. Cardiovascular and previous clinic experience is preferred, not required

CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURES REQUIRED:

Current certification as a Certified Nurse Practitioner. Current State license as a Registered Nurse -OR- Requires Michigan state licensure and continued certification by the National. Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA). Current BLS. Current ACLS/ATLS/PALS provider status as required by department
