Practice Highlights: Saint Alphonsus Medical Group (SAMG) is a physician led and accountable 500+ provider multispecialty group practice that has an excellent opportunity for an advanced practice provider to join its growing Hospitalist service located in Boise, Idaho. In collaboration with Hospitalist physicians, the nurse practitioner (NP) or physician assistant (PA) provides independent high-level advanced practice services to patients within the Hospitalist Program. Clinical responsibilities include assessment, consultation, and management of follow-up patients, triage resolution, pre-admission screening and follow-up. Duties include triaging add-on patients, laboratory follow-up and oversight of patients within scope of practice.

Specific duties and functions include but are not limited to the following: Demonstrate knowledge and skills to competently care for all assigned age groups (Adolescents over 18, Adults and Geriatric). Provide timely, accurate reports to physician as appropriate. Seek consultation as needed. Coordinate admissions, round on inpatients, order therapies and tests, and provide continuity through the provision of triage assessment and decision making in collaboration with physicians as appropriate. Work in collaboration with Hospitalist Program Medical Director, attending, and consulting physicians to ensure provision of appropriate care. Provide pre-admission / anesthesia testing administration and oversight services. Provide follow-up consultations and support as needed. Anticipate and proactively manage pre-operative care. If needed, support and participate in provision of integrative therapies and clinical trials to Hospitalist patients. Provide accurate, appropriate and timely dictation and billing. Participate in the development and clinical flow of all services provided by the department. Accountable for large number of patients. Direct other caregivers, assisting others in learning their assigned responsibilities. Routine and complex decisions are made independently and in conjunction with other health care team members.

Support: 24/7 CRNA Anesthesia; Level II Trauma Center; ED; Saint Alphonsus FM clinic on-site; community family medicine clinics; SAHS specialty physicians rotate in outreach, larger system resources.

Requirements:

Current, unrestricted Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner medical license in Idaho; Valid controlled substance registration with Idaho Board of Pharmacy and DEA
