Nurse Practitioner / Physician - General Surgery
Details Specialty: Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant - General SurgerySchedule: 1.0 FTE, 36 patient care hours with 4 hours of admin time per week; clinic hours are 8:00 am to 5:00 pm Monday-Friday, one-half day of clinic per week (3 hour block) seeing post-op and pre-op patients. Assist with rounding on inpatients and in the OR. Responsible for assisting Acute Care Surgeon, new consults/rounding/assisting the surgeon as needed. Occasional travel to cover cases/rounds at Mercy Hospital, OshkoshCall Schedule: Weekends 1:6 - call Friday 3:00 pm running through Monday 7:00 am. Weekend call involves rounding both days and covering emergent OR cases.  Weekdays 1:6 - call 5:00 pm to 7:00 am (responsible for relieving in OR as needed).   Practice Detail: Position is part of a regional group between St Elizabeth Hospital, Appleton/Mercy Hospital, Oshkosh - home base is AppletonEMR System: EpicFacility: St Elizabeth Hospital, Appleton / Mercy Hospital, OshkoshLocation: Appleton WI and Oshkosh WI

Ascension-Wisconsin is looking for a Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant for our Endocrinology department to support our Endocrine needs.

Position Highlights:

Assisting in the OR and rounding on patients in the Fox ValleyCall for Weekends 1:6 and Call for Weekdays 1:6Will consider NEW GRADUATES

 

Responsibilities:

Obtains patient history and performs assessment via observation, interview and examination. Orders, performs and interprets diagnostic studies. Performs preventative health assessments, screening, immunizations and patient care.Provides direct treatment and management of health conditions via referral to other healthcare providers or community resources.Counsels and educates patients and their families/caregivers concerning preventative health, treatment options and community resources.Documents delivery of health care and nursing processes in accordance with specific specialty area standards and network nursing policy.
Requirements

Licensure/Certification/Registration:

BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.Nurse Practitioner credentialed from the Wisconsin Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required. Licensure from the Minnesota Board of Nursing is also accepted. Licensure is dependent on state associate works in. Verified by local Credentialing Office.Registered Nurse credentialed from the Wisconsin Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required. Licensure from the Minnesota Board of Nursing OR current home state license, if considered multi-state/Compact State, is also accepted. Licensure is dependent on state associate works in. Verified by local Credentialing Office.Drug Enforcement Admin credentialed from the Drug Enforcement Administration preferred. Verified by local Credentialing Office.

Education:

Master's degree of Nursing required.
