Summary

POSITION INFORMATION Position summary: The nurse practitioner is a licensed professional who will function independently but provide care in collaboration with a psychiatrist. They will plan, implement, and evaluate treatment in accordance with patient care standards, as applicable while delivering psychiatric services at various nursing homes for Southwest General. They will act as a liaison between the Southwest General, skilled nursing facilities, the physician, and the patient/family, and collaborate with other health care professionals as appropriate. They may assist in the orientation of new employees and may participate in hospital or department committees. They must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to age groups, according to specific chronological age, developmental age, and/or psycho-social maturity. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Education: State of Ohio graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
Required length and type of experience: Must have a minimum of two (2) years of experience in a physician's office or hospital setting (experience in the clinical setting a plus); Clinical skills required will be dictated by the scope of services offered. Must have strong organizational skills and communication skills, with the general public, in person and on the telephone.
Required licensure, certification or registry: Current licensure by the Ohio State Board of Nursing
