Job Summary
Registered Nurse RN Neurosciences About the Registered Nurse RN Neurosciences Role - Lunder 7 - The inpatient neuroscience units consist of 3 floors in our newest state of the art Lunder building. The Lunder building is a beautiful open space with floor to ceiling windows, private rooms, and access to the latest equipment promoting an optimal care environment. - Neuroscience nurses at MGH are part of an amazing team of clinicians who provide exceptional care to complex patients with a primary neurological diagnosis. - Our neuroscience nurses care for an adult population that includes a variety of primary neurological diagnoses such as stroke, head and spine trauma, and degenerative spine disease requiring surgical intervention. - Our neuroscience nurses become experts in the care of this complex patient population with proficiency caring for patients with altered mental status, external drains, including cerebral and lumbar drains, mechanical ventilation, and parenteral feeding tubes. Qualifications
Skills and Experience Required for a Registered Nurse RN Neurosciences BSN is preferred -- Current licensure in Massachusetts as a registered nurse is required - Neuro and critical care experience are preferred, but candidates with experience in general acute care and demonstrating a strong interest in the neuroscience specialty will also be considered - This position requires you to work a day/night rotation shift - Ideal candidate has 2 years recent acute care RN experience, new grad RN's will not be considered.
