Woodward Resource Center (WRC), an Iowa Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) specialty care facility, is seeking a passionate and dedicated Nurse Supervisor to join our dynamic team. What You'll Do As a Nurse Supervisor at WRC, you'll play a pivotal role in delivering exceptional care and support. Your responsibilities will include: + Supervision - Provide direct supervision to a team of PM and Night LPNs and RNs, and PM Resident Treatment Workers. Maintain the PM and NOC nurse schedule, and coordinate staffing on the PM and NOC shift in coordination with the Administrator of Nursing and the Medical Center Supervisor. + Training and Development - Schedule subordinates for required training through Staff Development and provide required training annually to direct care staff. Follow up of medication variances with the assigned nurses and develops action plans to prevent future medication variances. + Comprehensive Assessments -Complete chart reviews as assigned. Follow up with employees to resolve concerns and make needed corrections. + Follow-up Care - Perform and document physical assessments of all reported injuries and illnesses and determine the appropriate intervention. Perform all nursing procedures within the scope of practice of the Registered Nurse license such as intravenous therapy, venipuncture, enteral feedings, catheter irrigations, administration of parenteral and non-parenteral medications, ear irrigations, and administering medications instilled into the body (ear, nose, eye, rectal, vaginal). + Safety Measures -Successfully complete Health care Provider CPR trainer and Nursing Skill Fair, as well as MANDT, Mandatory Reporter, and any other required training. In collaboration with the Nurse Educator and staff development, provide quarterly code blue drills and perform follow up debriefings for drills and actual code blue calls. Identified corrective actions will be initiated and completed according to established time frames.
