Nurse Supervisor

JOB SUMMARYThe Nurse Supervisor will oversee community health nursing activities, ensuring high-quality care in rural health outposts and outreach services, including outpatient consultations, chronic disease management, MHPSS, and health awareness sessions. They will organize and monitor training for healthcare staff, mentor nurses, and collaborate on equipping facilities with necessary supplies. By promoting health services, reducing stigma around mental health, and facilitating group counseling, they aim to empower communities and build resilience. They will also maintain accurate documentation, report service outcomes, address healthcare gaps, etc.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES• Supervise community health nursing activities, ensuring high-quality nursing care is provided in rural health outposts and through outreach services.• Oversee outpatient consultations, health awareness sessions, and home-based care to meet the needs of target populations, including chronic disease management and MHPSS.• Support the organization of training for healthcare staff in community health practices, including public health, NCD management, psychological first aid, etc.• Monitor the progress and competency of trained nurses, providing mentorship and support as needed.• Ensure that health facilities and mobile clinics are equipped with the necessary medical supplies, equipment, and medications, through collaboration with relevant project staff.• Promote health services through community mobilization efforts, ensuring accessibility and reducing stigma around mental health services.• Facilitate health awareness sessions and group counseling to empower communities with knowledge and build resilience.• Maintain documentation of nursing activities, patient records, and referrals, ensuring accuracy and compliance with health protocols.• Report on service delivery outcomes and identify gaps or challenges in healthcare provision.• Performs other duties as assigned by line manager.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
• Qualified Nurse or Midwife (a Bachelor`s or Master`s degree in Nursing/Midwifery or Public Health is an asset) with minimum five years of experience working on primary health care programs.• Knowledge and skills as per scope of services provided at the primary health level in adults and children.• Knowledge and skills for emergency life support interventions in adult in adults and children, internationally recognized training certificate(s) is an asset.• Language: Bilingual in Ukrainian and Russian desired, English is an asset.• Familiar with Microsoft Office especially Outlook, Word, Excel and Power Point.• Good communication, teamwork skills and ability to work independently.• Experience in working with displaced persons, refugees, returnees and migrants is an asset.• Experience in elaboration and implementing into practice of standard operational procedures and protocols.• Ability to perform jobs effectively and be responsible for making decisions.• Ability to work within a team structure, flexible, and can cope with stressful workloads and working with limited resources.Female candidates are highly encouraged to apply.
REPORTING LINES• Position reports to Senior Project Officer.• Position Technically supervises Nurses and/or Feldshers from supported Health Facilities• Closely collaborate with other members of the health team.

This position will be based in Dnipro, with frequent travel to Zaporizhia and Mykolaiv oblast, implementing a development health project.
