JOB SUMMARY
As a Nurse Supervisor, responsibilities include the supervision of the infirmary and the medication administration and care of ill campers, staff, guests and visiting athletes. Within this role there are varying degrees of processes in which must be understood and prioritized in order to successfully achieve the daily operations of this department.
You should be knowledgeable in healthcare, wellness, and safety initiatives and programs. Must be willing to evolve and adapt with the needs of the business and adhere to and support all work protocols and guidelines regarding COVID-19 as our department also includes the athletic trainers and health& wellness staff during camp season.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Maintain and be a knowledgeable resource of current and proposed standards of practice and state guidelines of registered nurses
Supervise the daily operation of the infirmary
Create and execute staff schedule for the infirmary
Ensuring adherence to HIPPA standards
Execute the medicine administration process for all campers, guests, and staff to ensure compliance across state and ACA guidelines
Work alongside the Transportation department to ensure the best care is provided to all medical transports
Work alongside athletic trainers and other medical staff to execute the best plan of care for campers, staff, and guests
Oversite of maintaining records on campers, staff, and guests utilizing our internal platforms
Liaison between parents, coaches, program staff, and athletes regarding illness care, prevention, management, and treatment.
Maintain Woodward's safety logs, operational sheets and incident logs
Provide on-call overnight coverage on a rotational basis every night via phone and radio coverage
PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES:
Well-spoken and articulate over the phone, through written contact, and in person
Ability to remain calm under pressure and meet deadlines
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with moderate supervision, agile, and able to pivot quickly
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE/SPECIAL SKILLS:
3+ years as a Registered Nurse
Pennsylvania State Board of Nursing Licensure or Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC)
Must have 2+ years of experience working with kids and/or teens
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
+/- 4 camp nurses
BASIC SCHEDULE/REQUIREMENTS:
As a requirement of this position, pre-hire criminal history clearances are collected from the Pennsylvania State Police (PATCH) system, child abuse clearances are obtained through the Department of Public Welfare, and federal history is taken through FBI fingerprint screening.
Physical Capabilities: bend, twist, push, pull, stand, lift 50 lbs.
Availability: 12-week commitment preferred. Pre-Camp (if working first 4-6 weeks of camp season) and post-camp (if working last 4-6 weeks of camp season).
