Nursery Production Intern May-August (Flexible) 2025   Bachman’s is committed to creating a caring environment while inspiring a passion for bringing beauty to life. Our Nursery Production intern will work hands-on with our crews and the growing team to learn all about growing methods. Your primary focus will be container production and growing methods; B&B field production, harvesting, and growing; and scheduling production in both the nursery and the greenhouse. This is a paid internship. Jobs Duties: + Cultural Practices- Conduct a wide variety of growing duties including pruning, spacing, weeding, irrigation, fertilization, etc. + Planting annuals, woody and herbaceous perennial stock into containers. Prepare, plant and transport product to growing fields. Plant trees and evergreens in the field. + Shipping- assemble and load orders of containers and/or perennial stock for retail and/or wholesale sales. + Field Harvest- Harvest and package field grown nursery stock in B&B, bare-root, or gro-bags. + Production Planning/Inventory-assist with a wide variety of inventory duties in container and field production + Other duties- there may be a wide variety of other production or support duties that are required on an occasional basis + Attend weekly grower meetings to learn and discuss plant health/ production + Operate a variety of nursery equipment in the performance of above duties Qualifications: + Horticulture, Soil Science, Ag., Forestry, Biology or majors applicable + Plant ID course preferred and helpful. Horticulture production or related experience helpful, but not required. Schedule: + 40 hours a week, M-F.
