Job Summary: The Nurses Aide II is an employee who assists the nursing staff by performing assigned duties for patients and staff under the direct supervision of a registered nurse.
Minimum Requirements: High school graduate or equivalency required. Nurses Aide I certificate listed with the North Carolina Department of Facilities Services and NA II listed with the North Carolina Board of Nursing. Possesses the ability to relate effectively to patients, their families, physicians, staff, and all others using proper channels of communication. Able to follow directions and perform assigned activities in caring for patients. Must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served on his/her unit(s). The individual must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to his/her age-specific needs, and to provide the care needed as described in the unit's/ area's/ department's policies and procedures. Maintains confidentiality. Maintains current AHA BLS certification.
