5 Park Neuroscience:
5 Park features all-private rooms with monitoring capabilities. The unit offers specialized nursing assessment and care to patients with both neurological and neurosurgical diagnoses. Typical patients include those with a diagnosis of stroke, post-op craniotomy, post-op discectomy and other back surgeries, as well as post-cerebral embolization. Unit nursing care is complemented by the expertise of the Neuroscience Nurse Clinician, who is the Stroke Coordinator as well as assists in linking the Neuro Unit with the Rehabilitation Unit while fostering a strong focus on the patient's continuum of care. Neuroscience and Medical-Surgical experience is preferred but New Graduate nurses are welcome.
Job Summary:
The Nurse Assistant assists the nursing staff by performing selected nursing procedures and routine duties in caring for patients. All functions must be within the scope of training and instruction received and are under the supervision of a Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

1.Provides basic physical care
2.Assists the patient with meeting nutritional needs
3.Assists patients with activity as designated
4.Maintains a safe environment for the patient according to policy and procedure
5.Performs and documents appropriate procedures according to hospital policy and procedure.
6.Participates in responsibilities of the unit.
Minimum Education, Training and Experience:
High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
CNA preferred.
BLS required.
