The compensation offered to the candidate selected for the position will depend on several factors, including the candidate's educational background, skills and professional experience. Job Overview: Provides basic, direct patient care, taking into account specific needs as related to patient s age. Assumes responsibility for care of patients and functions as a member of the health care team, taking direction and guidance from Registered Nurse. All care is provided in compliance with and according to department policy/procedure and Standards of Care. Qualifications: Required: + High School Diploma + BLS Certification through American Heart Association only + 1 year experience for per-diem + Ability to read, write, and speak English + Effective communication skills and basic math skills + Successful completion of all Orientation Programs Preferred: + Previous Nursing Assistant experience and/or successful completion of two Registered Nurse accredited clinical courses and/or completion of a Certified Nursing Assistant program Certifications and Licenses: + BLS certification through American Heart Association Scheduling Requirements: + Days 7:00AM - 3:00PM + Schedule during the week will vary depending on department needs, minimum of 2 weekend shifts per month + Per-Diem + Mandatory Orientation Essential Functions: + Participates in assessment of patient needs and communication with the health care team + Participates in staff, patient and/or family education to a degree consistent with personal knowledge base + Participates in unit Quality Improvement activities + Uses an understanding of the principles of growth and development to assess each patient s age specific needs and provide age specific treatment and care Other Duties: Please note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job.
