Nursing Clinical Educator

Job Summary

The Nursing Clinical Educator is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating education for all nursing staff. Education will be presented in a standardized manner to ensure quality care for all patient populations.  The Nursing Clinical Educator incorporates evidence-based practice in onboarding materials, Nurse Residency, continuing education, and simulation scenarios/skills.  The Nursing Clinical Educator will collaborate with the healthcare team to support frontline staff and ensure patients receive the highest quality, patient-centered care. The Nursing Clinical Educator utilizes clinical expertise to improve staff knowledge and patient outcomes. Education         

Bachelors prepared RN

Experience        

3 years of experience as a bedside RN

License/Registration/Certifications        

Unrestricted nursing license permitting practice in South Carolina BLS/ACLS/PALS Certification.  Maintains BLS/ACLS/PALS instructor status (if applicable) Additional education, training, certifications, or experience may be required to meet the needs of the staff and patient population.

Core Job Responsibilities

Design, develop, and implement standardized education to all nursing staff in all patient populations based on the annual learning education needs assessment Serve as a nursing leader and mentor throughout orientation, onboarding, and continued education Provide coaching and feedback in a timely manner to nursing associates and nurse leaders Develop and lead hospital wide education competencies for all nursing staff, while meeting regulatory requirements Implement evidence-based practices throughout onboarding and continued education Create and lead nursing education classes, competencies, and blitz/roving education Collaborate with ancillary departments to provide standard education for quality patient care Collect, monitor, and analyze nursing quality indicators to identify trends and education needs Identify opportunities for improvement and knowledge gaps within the nursing staff Serve as an expert resource to front-line staff for all standardized education Other Duties as assigned
