Functions in a role to facilitate operations of the hospital, implementation of changes, and enhance staff accountability. Serves as clinician with advanced clinical knowledge and skills. **KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:** 1. _Education_ : Graduate of an accredited Registered Nurse program and currently licensed as a Registered Nurse of the State of Ohio. Certification: BLS for the Healthcare Provider through the AHA. Have or be able to obtain ACLS and PALS within six months of hire. Must have or be willing to obtain NRP, dysrhythmia and critical care classes. 2. _Experience_ : Three years acute care experience with one year critical care experience required; one year previous supervising experience preferred. 3. _Knowledge and Abilities_ : + A. Demonstrated leadership abilities + B. Performs nursing skills and operated specific nursing equipment + C. Interprets hospital policies and procedures. + D. Handles confidential information + E. Assists managers in providing supervision to hospital associates **WORKING CONDITIONS:** + 1. Works in patient care environment where there is frequent exposure to communicable diseases, biohazardous waste/materials and offensive odors. + 2. Prolonged standing, walking, stooping/bending, along with lifting, turning and positioning of patients. Must be able to lift 50 pounds. + 3. Occasional exposure to injury due to combative or abusive patients. + 4. Work may be fatiguing and emotionally stressful. + 5. Frequent and prolonged exposure to excessive noise due to unit activities. + 6. Frequently exposed to mental strain caused from a fast paced environment and information from multiple sources. **LEADERSHIP RESPONSIBILITY:** 1.The Registered Nurse is a licensed professional nurse responsible for delivery of patient care and teaching through the nursing process. The Registered Nurse may delegate responsibilities/activities of other nursing personnel while maintaining standards of professional nursing, and the established policies and procedures of the organization. The Registered Nurse assists in orientation of new personnel and assume a leadership role as assigned.
