JOB SUMMARY

The role encompasses 24 hour direct responsibility for the supervision and management of the Emergency Department that provide direct and indirect patient care for an age specific population.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

 

Education: Bachelors degree in nursing or other health related field or agreement to enroll in Bachelors degree program within six months of accepting position, with continual enrollment until completed.

 

Experience: Previous leadership and/or management experience; recent acute hospital experience, and a minimum of three years of experience in the emergency department.

 

Knowledge and Skills: Able to communicate effectively in English, both orally and written.  Able to work in a fast pace environment, able to work in a team environment and manage/prioritize/complete work assignments.

 

License/Certifications: A current active California RN license, Current American Heart Association (AHA) BLS, AHA ACLS, ENPC or AHA PALS; NIH Stroke Scale Certification prior to completing department orientation and Workplace Violence AB508/SB1299 Training within 4-months of hire / transfer into the emergency department (Once certified, the employee must re-certify the following year, and then bi-annually.  AB508 training / Certification.

 

Equipment: asic knowledge of computer programs such as Microsoft Word, Powerpoint, and Excel.  General knowledge of unit specific equipment.

 

Physical Requirements: Must be able to perform the essential physical requirements of the job.

 

PAY RANGE

$62.84 - $94.26

 

The posted pay range reflects the lowest to highest pay that was available for this position at the time of posting and may be subject to change.  Salary offers are determined by candidate’s relevant experience and skills.  For per diem positions, a standard rate is used based on market data and not the candidate’s individual experience.
