This position will support the Family Birthing Center at Parkview Regional Medical Center.
Summary
Serves as primary resource for planning, coordinating and facilitating nursing professional development (NPD) and clinical education throughout Parkview Health. Uses tools, theories, skills and knowledge of NPD to improve the practice of coworkers. The NPD Practitioner is accountable for NPD practitioner competencies.
Education
Must have a BSN from accredited program. Acceptable accrediting agencies are Commission on Collegiate Education in Nursing (CCNE), Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) or Commission for Nursing Education Accreditation (CNEA). MSN or Master's degree preferred. Indiana Perinatal Standards require that NICU and Obstetrics educators have a Master's degree, MSN preferred, or be actively in progress of obtaining the degree.
Licensure/Certification
Valid Registered Nurse License required for the State where services will be provided. Nursing Professional Development certification within 3 years. Certification in other clinical specialty area encouraged.
Experience
Must have minimum of three years experience in direct patient care. Experience in family birthing is preferred. Indiana Perinatal Standards require that NICU and Obstetrics educators must have advanced neonatal and obstetrical experience.
Other Qualifications
Demonstrates ability to establish and maintain effective communication skills, both verbal and written. Minimum proficiency with technology ie. Microsoft Office suite.
