Nursing Professional Development Associate
Job Summary Develops and implements innovative educational strategies to meet the educational needs of onboarding unlicensed staff. Collaborates with other team members and individuals to assist in the development of program curriculum to meet the needs of the organization. Assists in the implementation and continuing support of the electronic medical record changes and education. Job Duties + Participate in the development of curriculum for unlicensed nursing orientation program, that incorporates evidence-based instructional practices + Provide periodic unlicensed Preceptor Program instruction, approximately four (4) times a year. + Provide instructional support for training of interns, externs and pre-Physician Assistant students on topics outlined in the unlicensed curriculum. + Assist with preparing and organizing an annual one-day Nursing Assistant Conference as needed. + Work with system Nursing Professional Development Practitioners and unlicensed instructors to develop, update and implement course outlines, lesson plans, and examinations to meet the academic and behavioral objectives of the unlicensed orientation program. + Provides classroom instruction to unlicensed staff using innovative techniques and processes. + Work with the Nursing Professional Development team to establish, teach, and evaluate professional development activities. + Work with department admin to maintain and keep current all handouts and materials for unlicensed orientees. + Work with system instructors to develop and keep current digital presentations (e.g., PowerPoint, etc.) that align with the unlicensed system orientation curriculum. + Coordinate guest speaker participation and presentations, as appropriate, in the delivery of the unlicensed orientation curriculum. + Adapt instructional methods and materials to the unlicensed orientation curriculum to meet unlicensed needs based on feedback from staff evaluations, Nursing Professional Development Practitioners and managers. + Observe, evaluate, and document student performance and progress in classroom and clinical skills settings + Establish, observe, provide feedback and individually document work attributes of the unlicensed orientees such as, but not limited to, being on time, attendance, appropriate attire, teamwork, civility, etc. + Maintain essential records pertinent to areas of instructional responsibilities. + Maintain instructional expertise in all content areas of curriculum- classroom and clinical. + Promote the unlicensed nursing career pathway + Provide supplemental trainings and other professional development to employees of Geisinger as needed. Work is typically performed in a classroom or clinical environment. Accountable for satisfying all job specific obligations and complying with all organization policies and procedures.
