Nursing Service Tech/Nursing Assistant | Float Pool

What you'll do:

Perform routine treatment procedures as directed. Assists Staff Nurse in complicated treatment procedures. Maintain traction supplies including traction cart every shift. Complete all equipment set up as directed.  Report any changes observed in condition or behavior of patient. Communicate any patient complaints of pain to patient's nurse, charge nurse or unit coordinator. Assist in and, as necessary, accompany patient in the admission, transfer and discharge procedures. Provide and/or assists with personal care as necessary (i.e. baths, dressing of patient, personal hygiene, etc.) Assist with patient care, such as positioning patient, lifting and turning patient with proper body mechanics, applying/utilizing special equipment as necessary and ambulating the patient as directed. Under supervision, perform general care activities for patients in isolation.

Schedule: 

64 hours every 2 weeks  Rotating day, evening and night shifts (all shifts)  Every other weekend

What you'll have:

High School Diploma or GED. Certified Nursing Assistant, preferred. Previous orderly or nurse aide experience preferred. Ability to read, write and comprehend medical terminology. Working knowledge of personal care activities, transfer techniques, CPR, traction set-up, post mortem care including legal boundaries for coroner care. Knowledge of growth and development; specifically an understanding of the cognitive, physical, emotional and chronological maturation process. Understanding of the range of treatment needed by patients of all ages in relation to the growth and development processes to include neonate, child, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients.
