M Health Fairview St. John's Hospital located in Maplewood, MN is growing! We're looking for a dedicated Nursing Station Technician (NST) to care for patients on our new Outpatient / Short Stay department. Are you ready to join our growing campus? We'd love to have you on the team!
This position will work **64** Hours every two weeks (0.8 FTE) on the **Night** shift and is benefit eligible. The Nursing Station Technician will also work **8-hour shifts,** work every other weekend and have a **Block** schedule.

+ Deliver care to outpatients in a bed, observation and other short stay patients
+ Multidisciplinary approach to care
+ Care delivery team: Board Certified/Eligible physicians, RNs, Health Unit Coordinators, and Nursing Assistants
**Responsibilities Job Description**
The NST is a hybrid position consisting of both Nursing Assistant and Health Unit Coordinator roles to deliver direct patient care and administrative duties.
In this role, you will work under the direct supervision of a nurse to demonstrate excellent customer service, collaboration and interpersonal skills with patients, families, and the healthcare team on a fasted paced unit. The NST assists the professional caregiver in the delivery of patient care, transporting patient and/or equipment, setting up and maintaining rooms, reordering, and stocking supplies. In addition, the NST will maintain unit desk area functions such as answering phones, processing admissions, discharging and transferring forms, transcribing orders, assembling patient charts and ordering tests.
**Qualifications**
+ Basic Life Support (BLS for Healthcare Providers) certification required. Ontrack participants needs to acquire the certification upon completion of the OnTrack program.
+ Six months of recent direct care experience in a long term, home care or acute care setting.
OR
+ Current enrollment in an LPN, RN or Nurse Practitioner program, and completion of one (1) semester of clinical rotation within the program
OR
+ Current certification on the Minnesota Nursing Assistant Registry upon hire. This requirement does not need to be maintained throughout employment and is not required if subsequently transferring into another Nursing Assistant or Nursing Station Tech
NOTE: Individuals who have completed a Nursing Assistant program and are scheduled to take the NA Registry exam will be granted 90 days post hire to become active on the registry.
