Job Summary

Supervises nursing staff, assesses patients needs and provides nursing care for patientsPlans and organizes training for unit staff members and participates in guidance and educational programs

Essential Functions

Hires, trains, supervises and evaluates designated nursing staff; assigns duties and coordinates nursing servicesParticipates in developing nursing protocol and proceduresProvides continuing education and staff development opportunities for nursing staffAssesses patient needs; participates in providing nursing care; ensures services are carried out and documented appropriatelyMaintains patient health care recordsMaintains supply inventory records; orders supplies and equipment, as necessary

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities/Expectations

Supervisory skills and ability to evaluate job performanceAbility to make decisions and accept responsibility for work unitTime management skills and ability to organize prioritiesAbility to maintain confidentiality of all patient and/or employee information to assure patient and/or employee rights are protectedMust have good and regular attendanceMust read, write and speak fluent EnglishApproximate percent of time required to travel\: 0%Performs other related duties as assigned

Salary Range\: $52.73 - $76.91/Hour

Degree from an accredited school of nursing

Licenses/Certifications

Valid state Registered Nurse licenseValid BLS certification

Experience

Two years of nursing experience in a hospital1 to 2 years supervisory/leadership experience
