Nutrient System Technician

Position Overview & Responsibilities: Perform animal mortality, manure, and water system operational tasks in a timely and efficient manner. Complete schedule projects to timeline and quality standards of company. Effectively work with production and maintenance staff to maximize quality of work and productivity of departments.\n

Major Areas of Accountability:\n

ANIMAL MORTALITY SYSTEM OPERATIONS \n\nDaily pick up and removal of animal mortalities according to biosecurity protocols.\nDaily operation of mortality disposal system\n\nIncinerator\n\nLoad mortalities\nRemoval and dispose of ash \n\n\nComposting\n\nCreate compost windrows\nTurn compost windrows\nDispose of completed compost material\n\n\nRendering \n\nDropoff mortalities \n\n\nComplete required animal mortality system monitoring forms.\n\n\n\n

MANURE SYSTEM OPERATIONS \n\nComplete required manure system monitoring forms \nMonitor manure storage levels\nMonitor lift station operations\nOperate manure separator\nRemove manure solids from manure separator and deliver to the fields.\n\n

EQUIPMENT OPERATIONS\n\nOperate wheel loader, tractor, skid-steer, manure application equipment (liquid and solid), and other equipment as needed with accuracy.\nCleaning of equipment including but not limited to power washing\n\n

WATER SYSTEM OPERATIONS \n\nMonitor water system operations\n\n
\n

TECHNICAL REPAIR \n\nRepair equipment specific to CFF and its producers\n\n
\n

NON-PRIORITY REPAIR \n\nPerform scheduled repairs to company quality and cost standards.\nProvide service and labor for farm group\nPerform general carpentry, plumbing, and steel repair.\n\n
\n

OTHER PROJECTS\n\nProvide labor for or lead other projects\n\n\nAsset Maintenance Program\n\nExecute maintenance procedures on animal mortality system (wheel loaders, tractors, skid-steer, trailers, incinerator, etc).\nExecute maintenance procedures on manure system (manure storage areas, lift stations, manure separators, etc).\nExecute maintenance procedures on assigned farms.\n\n\n\n

SEASONAL EQUIPMENT PREPARATION \n\nPrepare equipment for use\nMaintain and properly store equipment not in use.\n\n
\n

SITE CARE\n\nLandscape maintenance, weed eating, seeding, and tree planting projects.\nOperate lawn mowing and other site care equipment such as weed trimmer, pesticide sprayers, and tractors.\nParticipate in snow removal, grounds keeping, and various seasonal preparations.\n\n
