Nutrition Coordinator

Working as the Nutrition Coordinator at Acelero Learning will give you the opportunity to plan and collaborate with other service area coordinators and staff while complying with Head Start Performance Standards to ensure the health and well-being of children served in the program.Job Responsibilities:• Works collaboratively with the Health Coordinators and health team to obtain health components necessary to complete Nutrition Questionnaires for all children.• Completes or provides leadership to complete Integrated Care Plans (ICP) for children with identified nutrition concerns, including anemia, obesity, low weight and food allergies.• Provides education to families with identified nutrition concerns.• Re-screens children with BMI < 5% and >90% to determine the need of ICPs and/or nutrition education with families. Establishes healthy eating goals as needed• Demonstrates knowledge of CACFP regulations and participates in professional development.• Reviews, modifies, and evaluates menus in collaboration with the Food Service Coordinators to ensure that the meal program meets nutritional needs. Menus to reflect cultural preferences and to broaden each child’s food experience.• Creates menus for children with individualized needs or multiple food allergies.• Collaborates with the Food Service Coordinators to update special ingredients list and food substitution list.• Updates and maintains individual health records on Head Start children, and ensures all records are current in database system.• Monitors centers to assure that all Nutrition policies and procedures are in compliance at all times.• Provides oversight and training to Family and Health Advocates from all centers to equip them with necessary skills related to working with families on healthy eating goals, care plans (Health and Disability Advocates only), and parent education. Job Requirements: • Must be a Registered Dietitian or Nutritionist.• Minimum 1 year of supervisory experience required. Physical exam and background checks are required for this position.• Travel required locally or long-distance up to 10% of the time for work-related meetings and functions.• Must have a valid driver’s license and/or reliable transportation. This is a full-time salaried position that pays $70,000 annually.
