Job title: Nutrition Nurse
Reporting to: Nutrition Project Officer

Purpose of the position:
The Nutrition Nurse will take full responsibility to manage a Stabilization Center (SC) in the health facilities. The Nutrition nurse will ensure that program beneficiaries, particularly children with severe acute malnutrition with medical complication are well managed in terms of their medication and Nutritional needs. He/ She will also ensure that Primary care givers of children with SAM and medical complications are appropriately communicated to including, health and nutrition education, meal and medical regiments and hygiene practices.
30% Administer appropriate nursing care to all children<5 admitted to the SC.
Children 0-59M are identified and admitted into the SC according to protocolChildren 0-59M are discharged from SC with cure rate > 75%, defaulter rate <15%, None response Criteria <15% and Death rate <5%M&E tools update daily/ regularly20% Manage cases of children with severe Acute malnutrition with medical complications admitted in stabilization care centers
Fill appropriately the SC register and ensure correct admission criteriaComplete all required M&E tools at the SC including the MULTICHART Health Cards20% Proper management and drug administration of routine medication in the SC sites
Give appropriate medication to the beneficiaries.Prepare the right Nutrition meals of F100 F75 or RUTF as may be requiredEnsure No Stock out at the SC10% Ensure that accurate field data is kept at the SC centers and site reports/data compiled into weekly and monthly reports and submitted to the Nutrition Officer/ Manager
No stock out at the facilityMaintain and update stock cards on all supplies received at the facilityPOD documents are signed and stamped by the facility in charge M&E tools are delivered timely to the facility by the NFCs10% Work in close consultation and collaboration with the State Ministry of health in implementation of Nutrition activities
Weekly and monthly reports submitted timelyMaintain a good working communication with CHD10% Ensure that the Care givers of children admitted into the SC are orientated on admission, regular health and MIYCN messages on daily basis
MIYCN registers are filled on regular basis Patient health cards are filled appropriatelyQualifications/Education/Knowledge/Technical Skills and Experience.
The following may be acquired through a combination of formal or self-education, prior experience or on-the-job training: Minimum Qualification required: Three years training in Nursing, or health related field and a maximum of 2 yrs work experience in nursing management & CMAM/MIYCNDiploma or Degree in Nursing or other health related fieldPositive and professional attitude, able to organize, maintain and prioritize work under pressure and able to walk at a distance of two hours supervising Community Nutrition VolunteersExperience in anthropometric measuring techniques and community mobilizationComputer skills.Applicant Types Accepted:
