Nutritional Host - per diem
The starting rate for this position is: $16.08 Rate of pay displayed reflects the beginning of the pay scale. At the time of an offer, determination of your offer will reflect your skills and experience as it relates to the position. Summary Responsible for patient menu collection and correcting according to prescribed diet following the Academy of Nutrition and Dietitians guidelines. Assembly of all meals according to menu and delivery to the patient. Works closely with nursing to meet patients’ dietary needs. Includes some miscellaneous kitchen work. Essential Duties and Responsibilities + Supports and promotes the mission and values of Covenant Health Ministry. + Attaining, correcting, set up and delivery of patient meals. + Patient education regarding menu, as needed. + Select meals for patients who are unable to select. + May interact with patient family members. + Calculate number of cans of formula needed per day for tube feeding at given rate and strength. + Work closely with nursing to ensure patient satisfaction. + Attends various in-services and meetings. + Responsible for Net Learning CBL’s. + Communicate with patients regarding daily meals. + Communicates effectively with staff members and supervisors + Interact with Nursing Administration/Supervisor regarding patients’ dietary needs. + Utilize computer for clock in/clock out, and accessing diet information + Responsible for various side work duties to include but not limited to assisting in dish room, setting up kitchen for the next meal period or minor cleaning projects. + Able to work from verbal and written communication. + Operates kitchen equipment, coffee urns, can openers, blender, dishwasher, blender, etc. + Answering kitchen telephone + Every St. Joseph Hospital employee is required to abide by the Standards of Conduct and to report any activity that appears to violate the Standards of Conduct. + Other duties as consistent with this role. Job Requirements Job Knowledge and Skills + Work weekends and holidays as scheduled; required. Education and Experience + Education: High School Graduate or a general education degree (GED). + Some food service and diet office experience; preferred. + Strong interpersonal skills and customer service experience; required. An equivalent combination of education and experience which provides proficiency in the areas of responsibility listed above may be substituted for the above education and experience requirements. Working Conditions/Physical Demands Must possess the physical and mental abilities to perform the tasks normally associated with this position that involves a combination of sitting, standing, walking, bending, stooping, and reaching. Occasional lifting/carrying of audiovisual equipment up to 25 lbs. Some stress related to high level of responsibility for quality care.
