Nutritionist Maternal and Infant

Summary: Goldbelt C6, LLC., is seeking a Nutritionist with a specialty in Maternal and Infant nutrition, to apply skills that can be applied to infant formulas and maternal safety. Time and effort may be rotated among several different projects related to the development or amendment of food standards, food allergen or maternal and infant health assignments. Assignments will have a focus on the application of the knowledge of the principles and practices of food production, food technology, food chemistry, and other related disciplines (e.g., data science, nutrition) to issues regarding food standards, food allergens, and maternal and infant health. Responsibilities Essential Job Functions: Assist in providing technical knowledge and expertise in composition, nutrition, and safety of infant formulas and other food intended for infants. Provide scientific review and analysis of data and information in infant formula submissions, petition dossiers, and other agency records. Provide technical assistance in the development of scientific review documents, position papers, guidelines, guidance, and advisory opinions for matters related to infant health and nutrition. Provides expert scientific advice to Agency staff engaged in policy development relevant to infant foods, including infant formulas. Provides clinical and scientific expertise on the design and conduct of both clinical and pre-clinical trials, other testing to assess nutritional adequacy and safety of infant formulas. Analyze adverse event reports and technical information in complaints submitted to the Agency. Qualifications Necessary Skills and Knowledge: Expertise in applying principles, theories, practices and procedures of nutrition. Must possess complete understanding of basic biological and physical sciences and food technology, immunology, and closely related subjects An ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing, as demonstrated by experience as serving as a principal spokesperson, authoring, or coauthoring Federal Register documents, guidance documents or policy statements or labeling strategies. Knowledge of FDA laws, regulations, legal precedents, policies, and guidelines, especially those related to allergens, food labeling and food standards of identity. Skill in planning and carrying out complex assignments requiring input and cooperation from diverse groups. Minimum Qualification: Master’s degree in nutrition with a specialty in Maternal and infant nutrition, Food Science, Health Science, Physical Science, Life Science, Population Health Sciences, or related field. At least five (5) years’ experience investigating relationships between diet and disease in the biological aspects of nutrition Preferred Qualifications: Ph.D. in Nutrition with a focus on Maternal and Infant nutrition, Food Science, Health Science, Physical Science, Life Science, Population Health Sciences, or related field.
