NX CAD Engineer

Based in Cranfield, Bedfordshire, NTCE (Nissan Technical Centre, Europe) is our UK Research and Development hub. We are home to the functions that help us lead the way in vehicle design and development of the vehicles manufactured in our European plants. Purpose

We are seeking a CAD Engineer to be based at Nissan Technical Centre Europe, and to work with the minimum of supervision, on the realisation of interior component design & package of all aspects of interior components of current and future vehicle platforms in order to produce finished detailed CAD designs. This role also requires some level of project engineering responsibility.. 

Main Tasks & Responsibilities

CAD design and modelling of interior trim components.

Management of created CAD into Teamcenter ensuring all model attributes are completed.

Preparation of engineering release packs.

Work under the direction of lead project engineer on a day to day basis.

Take CAD designs from concept to finished model and produce finished drawings for engineering release where applicable.

Support and/or investigate resolution of build issues during pre-production builds and launch phase.

Support cost down activities on current production vehicles.

Skills & Experience

The CAD Engineer should have the following skills or experience:

Educated to HNC or equivalent within an engineering related discipline with automotive experience in component design.

Experienced NX user including complex surfacing preferred (other software will require training and clawback)

Experience using Teamcenter.

Knowledge of interior/exterior trim components.

A working knowledge of component manufacturing and tooling requirements.

Have good written and verbal communication skills.

Proficient in the use of Microsoft Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint.

The ideal candidate will be a focused, highly motivated, results orientated individual who works well under pressure and can work to a given deadline.

Ability to work well within a team environment and support others is essential.

Have ability to prioritise and multitask between multiple projects simultaneously

Be able to travel abroad, typically a few days to 2 weeks, but on rare occasions travel may be long distance and or at short notice.

Valid UK/European driving licence is MUST.

Competitive base salary

Remote Working Policy (maximum 2 days per week WFH)

Standard Working Hours: Mon-Thurs 8am-5pm, Fri 8am-1:20pm
