ASML is seeking a Mechatronics Architect to join the EUV Optical Column Mechatronics group in Veldhoven. As ASML pushes the boundaries of nano-technology beyond current state-of-the-art, we have a need to develop high precision machines while maintaining a focus on cost effectiveness and reliability. We are looking for someone to work on a highly creative and qualified team which focuses on sub-nanometer-accuracy positioning and adjustments of optical elements in the Projection Optic Box (POB) in our Low NA EUV systems.
Role and responsibilitiesAn experienced mechatronics architect in this position will work on developing new mechatronic design concepts and architectures for ASML current and next-generation EUV scanners, with a large focus on the NXE:4200G. They will take overall responsibility for the mechatronics function in the EUV low-NA POB (FC-12) context, meaning architecture, specification, (contributing to) design, technical budgets, critical component selection and integration. They will also be in the lead for interfacing to other modules, functions and competences.
Occasional travel to US and Asia can be expected.
Primary Responsibilities:
Work in multidisciplinary project teams, aimed at architecture and design of the mechatronics POB function.Define technical scope for projects together with the team, within the delivery boundaries.Lead, coach and develop employees within the team.Support project managers in planning, execution, and forecasting.Interface with suppliers and non-technical stakeholders.Use expertise to inform and support fellow architects, project leads and group lead. Provide roadmap input.Manage technical uncertainties and stimulate team to come up with solutions for these risks.Support the mechatronics design and the trade-offs between mechanical, electronic, software competencies.Integration and test of the mechatronic modules: support planning and issue resolution.SEG documentation.Education and experienceYou have an MSc or PhD in mechatronics, electronics, mechanics or technical physics, with specialization in Dynamics and Control.
Skills and work experience:
You have at least 10 years of experience in a similar role, preferably the high tech industry.You have experience leading a team of technical experts.You have experience with design and realization of mechatronics systems, including extensive knowledge in the area of servo control and signal analysis.Working knowledge of software tools such as MATLAB, Simulink and Python is a pre.Working knowledge of the areas of mechanics, optics, electronics, actuators, sensors and dynamics is a pre.SkillsTeam player with excellent communication skills.Customer-oriented and willing to visit customers onsite.Problem solving in an effective and structural way.Genuine interest in mechatronics engineering and analysis, as well as in developing precision systems that can perform reliably at customer sitesHigh-energy, quick study with flexible nature.This position requires access to controlled technology, as defined in the United States Export Administration Regulations (15 C.F.R. § 730, et seq.).
