NYSBA News Intern- Spring 2025

WHAM-TV/WUHF-TV has a great opportunity for you!  We are looking for current college juniors or seniors, as well as grad students who are interested in a career in television broadcasting. If you are a resident of New York State or attending a school in New York, and a first-time entrant in the NYSBA sponsored internship program, this may be the perfect program for you. 

This paid internship will involve many aspects of television broadcasting, including news, commercial production, engineering, and operations. The intern is eligible to work up to 180 hours and will be considered for an opportunity in the Spring Semester. 

This Internship may be considered for academic credit at the discretion of the student and university -- it is not a requirement.

REQUIREMENTS:  

Must be at least 18 years old Must be attending an accredited New York State college or university or are a NYS resident attending an accredited college or university outside of New York State. Each intern is required to work 10 – 15 hours a week inclusive of some evenings/weekends Must have reliable transportation Candidates must be registered for college classes during the quarter or semester in which the internship is performed. Candidates must be registered in any of the following college majors:  Communications, Journalism, or similarly related major. Internship is paid

The base hourly compensation range for this role is $15.00 to $16.00 per hour. Final compensation for this role will be determined by various factors such as a candidates’ relevant work experience, skills, certifications, and geographic location.
