We are seeking experienced O&M and Commissioning Technicians to join our team at PCL Solar Constructors Inc. for the construction of utility-scale solar plants.
As an **O&M and Commissioning Technician** for our Solar District, you will contribute to our team by:
**Requirements and Qualifications**
Candidates must demonstrate proficiency of Commissioning, understand construction site safety, and communicate effectively with team members. The requirements include but are not limited to:
+ Minimum of 3 years of experience as an O&M and Commissioning Technicians in the solar construction industry, demonstrating proficiency working with:
+ Inverters
+ Tracking
+ Solar Module Troubleshooting
+ Typical 40 hour workweek (extended hour where need to attend to issues)
+ Ability to work with minimal supervision
+ Valid driver's license
+ Any certifications for operating specific to electrical or commissioning.
+ Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications, ensuring tasks align with project goals.
+ Strong understanding of construction site safety protocols and practices, including knowledge of electrical safety basics to avoid hazards near solar installations, given the electrical nature of solar panels.
+ Excellent communication and teamwork skills, essential for coordinating with diverse project teams.
+ Physical ability to work in outdoor conditions, including varying weather, and to lift heavy objects, with potential for long hours in remote or rural locations typical of solar plant sites.
+ Willingness to travel and work remote locations as needed.
**Physical:**
+ Must comply with PCL’s drug and alcohol abuse policy.
+ Must be able to pass physical examination, pre-employment if necessary, and as required by PCL.
+ Able to climb and maintain balance on ladders, scaffolding, and stairways.
+ Stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, or work at elevated heights as well as in confined spaces (towers, vessels, excavations, etc.)
+ Able to carry 50 lbs. of tools and/or materials. PCL policy requires getting assistance to lift items over 50 lbs. Check with your project supervisor or project safety director.
+ Must be able to work a 10 hour shift doing hard physical labor in varying temperature extremes and other outside weather conditions.
+ Must be able to work extended hours on your feet on uneven surfaces (dirt, concrete, asphalt, mud, gravel, etc.).
+ Must work all hours needed at the jobsite and possible weekends with short notice.
**Safety/Environment:**
+ Knowledge solar construction site hazards which may require special precautions and PPE. Knowledge of power generating plant and cement plant hazards and special PPE.
+ Must undertake the appropriate safety/environmental training commensurate with the position and location.
+ Understand and implement lockout/tagout procedures as needed or directed in a safe manner.
+ Must be able to read and understand safety instructions, signs, labels, and permits in English.
