O&M Engineer (Systems Commissioning and Integration Support)

Role and Scope

The Operations and Maintenance Engineer will support the Manager of Operations and Maintenance in delivering services for Ameresco’s clients across the UK.

Requirements of the role are as follows:

Operations and Maintenance Engineer working in the renewables sector, to oversee
commissioning activities and contribute to all O&M tasks.
We require a highly motivated engineer who has experience with Combined Heat Pumps,
Ground and Air Source Heat Pumps, Building Management Systems, Gas boiler systems, system integration, system performance, metering, fault investigation, warranty determination, test and commissioning activities, and RAMS and reporting.
Responsibilities to include:
• Safety Compliance: Ensuring Safety is the highest priority. Be a role model for all aspects of safety. Ensure that safety protocols are followed during commissioning, testing and any works. This includes verifying emergency shutdown procedures, grounding, and
protective measures.
• Support the Project: Provide oversight, input and expertise on scope of design, works, testing and maintenance throughout all stages of the project: opportunity, tender, bid, client discussions, development, engineering design, implementation, delivery, operation & maintenance, M&V, sub-contractor selection, procurement of services, etc. Provide oversight, input and experience on scope of works for all activities throughout all stages of commissioning.
• Documentation: Accurate documentation is crucial. You’ll create and review
commissioning reports, record test results, and document any modifications made during the process. Draft, review and approve RAMS and compile and complete detailed post activity reports (commissioning activities, fault investigations, warranty determinations, etc).• System Testing and Verification: You’ll oversee and supervise the activities to test and verify the functionality of electro- mechanical knowledge and experience.prior experience with BESS, Solar PV, EVI, CHP, integration of systems and/ or operations and maintenanceSupport the bid teams establishing the required operations and maintenance activities and costs for new contracts and existing contract renewals.Advise on entire maintenance aspect, including all local safety, health and environmental requirements.Support preparation of annual operating budgets together with the ongoing management of the project finances.holistic fault diagnosis and investigation experience.warranty and complaints management/ handling experience

Candidate Requirements

Have an excellent understanding of mechanical, electrical and controls systems, the hazards and risks associated with this plant and strategies for management. Be an effective communicator at all levels with both internal and external teams. Be able to self start and self-manage tasks as highly organised, an excellent planner and solutions orientated and a team player. Highly experienced using engineering IT systems including work and asset management, metering and building management systems. Highly proficient to advanced user of Microsoft Office based system, especially, Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

HND/HNC or equivalent preferably in chemical, mechanical or electrical.

Minimum of 5 years’ experience with exposure to operations and maintenance within industrial and commercial sectors.

Commercially aware with experience of negotiating with equipment suppliers and installation contractors.
