About The Site
St Clair Energy Centre is a nominal 570 MW combined cycle power generation facility using GE 7FA gas turbines in a 2x2 configuration with GE A10 Steam Turbines. The facility is in Corunna, Ontario, Canada (near Sarnia, ON).
Position Overview
Responsible for the safe and proper operation and maintenance of the power generation facility. Maintains, troubleshoots, and repairs electrical equipment and assists in instrumentation and mechanical troubleshooting and repair. This equipment includes, but is not limited to, transformers; switchgear; generators; motors; breakers; and plant lighting. Strictly adheres to all safety and environmental rules and regulations to protect employees and public safety.
Responsibilities
+ The O&M Technician will be a team player performing maintenance and technical support to achieve safe, cost-effective operation and maintenance of the St. Clair Energy Centre.
+ Maintain and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical and or control systems in a power generation facility.
+ Perform/direct housekeeping tasks to maintain a clean safe work environment and professional appearance.
+ Work within and ensure strict adherence to all safety and environmental procedures.
+ The O&M Technician will workday shifts and be subject to scheduled and unscheduled overtime.
Required Skills
+ Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
+ High School diploma or equivalent. Technical degree/diploma a plus.
+ Minimum 4 years of directly related operations, mechanical, electrical or instrumentation and controls experience (I&C) experience in a power generation facility or minimum four years of directly related mechanical, electrical or instrumentation and controls experience maintaining large industrial equipment.
+ Education in mechanical maintenance, electrical maintenance or instrument and controls.
+ GE 7FA experience a plus but not required.
+ Computer proficiency with Microsoft Office software.
+ Good verbal and written communications skills.
+ Must be able to read and understand schematic blueprints and technical documents.
+ Uses computerized maintenance management system to initiate work requests for material deficiencies noted during shift operations.
+ Trains and develops other employees.
+ Performs duties such as writing procedures, updating shift schedules, etc.
