4 Year Degree Oakland University- Strength & Conditioning Graduate Assistant Athletic Department Overview Oakland University Athletics boasts 18 NCAA Division I sports programs and is part of the Horizon League. With 325+ student-athletes, our aim is to provide them a beneficial student-athlete experience to aid in their academic, athletic, personal, and professional development. Every employee plays a critical role in their holistic development. Position Description / Major Responsibilities The Oakland University Athletic Department is accepting applications for a two-year Strength & Conditioning Graduate Assistant Position to begin in the Fall Semester of 2025. Tuition hours up to 9 hours per semester and a stipend is also provided. Under the supervision of the Director of Strength & Conditioning, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to develop and implement general and sport-specific strength training sessions. Qualified candidates will also be given the opportunity to attend sport performance meetings, nutrition consultations, athletic training, associate athletic directors, sports teams, and other administrative meetings as appropriate. Additional responsibilities include, but are not limited to: weight room supervision, development and implementation of speed and/or conditioning training, facility and equipment maintenance, data collection, and other duties as assigned. Applicants should note that responsibilities will be given by the Director as deemed appropriate, and as the candidate demonstrates his/her ability to perform and excel at his/her assigned duties. Qualifications The successful candidate must have a bachelor’s degree in exercise science or a related field. The candidate must also be accepted into an Oakland University graduate program. The candidate must be certified in First Aid/CPR and he/she must have or be working toward their Strength and Conditioning Certification (NSCA or CsCCA).
