**Employment Type:** Full time **Shift:** Night Shift **Description:** **OB Clerk** We are seeking a considerate and driven individual that would exceed our patients, nurses, and providers expectations every day. The OB Clerk assists with the coordination of unit operations, scheduling, quality initiatives, as well as patient satisfaction initiatives. SUMMARY: Registers, schedules, admits and discharges patients on the OB Units. Obtains information from patients. Obtains patient signatures as outlined according to procedure. Explains health care policies and procedures to patients. Assigns rooms and prepares records of admissions and outpatient services. Transcribes physicians orders for scheduled procedures. Performs a variety of clerical and support staff functions related to the care of patients and documenting services provided. **QUALIFICATIONS:** Level of knowledge equivalent to that ordinarily acquired through completion of high school. Certification as Unit Clerk preferred. Successful completion of medical terminology course or equivalent level of knowledge gained through previous experience required. Previous experience in patient registration and unit coordinator function required. Knowledge and ability to use computer applications. Ability to complete data entry functions. Well developed communication skills, both written and oral. Able to communicate effectively with individuals and groups representing diverse perspectives. Articulates and demonstrates commitment to the philosophy, values, mission and vision of the organization. 64hrs per pp, Night shift 11pm - 7:30 AM.
