Responsibilities

Mayo Clinic Health System is a group of clinics, hospitals, and health care facilities that provide primary and specialty care close to home. Across all locations, you will find life-changing career opportunities.  Mayo Clinic Health System is consistently recognized as among the best health care systems in the nation.

The Mayo Clinic Health System in Eau Claire, WI is seeking a BC/BE OB/GYN physician to join our practice as an OB Hospitalist/Nocturnist!  We are a group of 10 OB/GYNs, 10 CNMs, 2 nurse practitioners, and 1 PA. We are looking to replace a retiring physician who has been with us for over 30 years!

We have a collegial practice, so teamwork, professionalism, and mutual respect are expected across the organization. Our model utilizes an integrated team approach, with primary delivery support being performed by our CNM team.  You would provide support for both obstetrical patients and gynecologic patients needing emergency gynecologic care.  Subspecialty services are available to us from Mayo Rochester in MFM, gynecologic oncology, and reproductive endocrine and infertility. As part of a health care system, consultations are also readily available from other specialties such as general surgery, urology, and interventional radiology.

Teaching medical students, PA, NP, and CNM students as well as residents is expected.

A full-time OB Hospitalist/Nocturnist works 161 shifts per year. The majority of the shifts would be at night. You would join another full-time OB Hospitalist/Nocturnist.  The position provides flexibility for a straight night position with 7 nights on paired with at least 7 days off for a total of 23 weeks per year. We would also consider a blend.  Our remaining OBGYN generalists cover daytime call and split the remaining night weeks.  The night call provider is not responsible for office coverage or scheduled gyn surgery during the day.

We deliver approximately 1,300 babies per year and continue to grow! Eau Claire, WI is one for the fastest growing communities in the state. This is an excellent opportunity to work as an OB Hospitalist/Nocturnist while being part of a top-notch team and earning an equitable salary and excellent benefits!
