Aspirus Wausau Hospital in Wausau, WI is seeking an OB Technician II to join our team!

The OB Technologist II is a member of the patient care team and is responsible for planning and organizing supplies, instruments, and equipment for surgical procedures. Assists with providing patient care under the general direction of a Registered Nurse. Collaborates with all OB and surgical team members to assure the safe and efficient passage of a patient through surgery. Responsible for his/her activities that can interact with, collaborate with, cause, or result in an effect or consequence to or with other practitioners in the OB and surgical environments.

HOURS: Part-Time or .6 FTE, 48 hours every pay period. PM/Night shift rotation

Experience/Qualifications

Knowledge of surgical care standards and practices normally acquired through graduation from a certified surgical technologist program or related field, and/or three or more years of related experience in the operating room. Minimum of one-year acute care surgical experience.Current BLS certification or obtained within 90 days of hire - All clinical personnel in identified job codes are required to maintain Basic Life Support (BLS) training through independent study, online manikin, and knowledge testing. An acceptable training program is the Basic Life Support (BLS) Health Care Provider course from the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross Professional Rescuer Program with AED. (See Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation Training Policy).Certification as a Certified Surgical Technologist desired.Prior listing on the Wisconsin Nurse Aide Registry or current registry beneficial.Possesses expert knowledge and practice of aseptic technique.Possesses expert knowledge of sequence or surgical procedures and demonstrates excellent anticipatory and dexterity skills.Annual accrual of CEUs/continuing education requirements per Education Council recommendation for the given year.
