Posting Summary Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking an Ultrasound Sonographer for the Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology & Reproductive Health within the New Jersey Medical School. Under the direction of the Maternal-Fetal Medicine Division Director, the Ultrasound Sonographer is responsible for performing ultrasounds on patients and all patients referred to the Maternal-Fetal Medicine provider, including basic OB sonograms, limited, specialized as well as umbilical cord doppler studies. Opportunities to be involved with research and clinical teaching opportunities exist within the practice allowing for professional development and career growth.

Among the key duties of this position are the following; Identifies self to patient and explains procedures. Prepares patients for procedures and records medical histories relevant to conditions being evaluated. Appropriately completes all information in Viewpoint and files all information according to procedures. Ensures patient safety and comfort. Communicates and discusses ultrasound results with patients and care team members. Uses 2D and occasionally 3D ultrasounds to diagnose and evaluate patients.
