The Observability Lead is responsible for defining and enhancing the event flow across the IT landscape, evaluating the benefits and costs of various use cases, and providing expertise to platform owners about observability. This role exists to ensure that data ingestion is optimized, data correlation and deduplication are enabled, and system performance is continuously monitored and improved. The ultimate goal is to generate actionable insights, support incident management, and promote observability capabilities within the organization. 

 

Your responsibilities would include:

 

defining event flow across the IT landscape with IT Architects: collaborating with architects to establish a comprehensive event flow strategy enriching the data with CMDB information to enable correlation and deduplication: enhancing data quality by integrating Configuration Management Database (CMDB) information maintaining connection with Product and Platform representatives: fostering ongoing communication with product and platform representatives organizing learning sessions to promote observability capabilities: conducting training sessions to enhance observability knowledge and skills coordinating requirements gathering and grooming: managing the process of gathering and refining requirements for performance monitoring initiatives.

 

You are a good candidate if you have:

 

proficiency in using APM technology, such as NewRelic, DataDog, AppDynamics, or Dynatrace, for monitoring and observability ability to work with and manage multiple monitoring agents across different systems in a multi-agent environment expertise in using synthetic transactions to monitor the performance and availability of SaaS platforms a strong focus on fostering collaboration by actively engaging with cross-functional teams and ensuring seamless teamwork the ability to communicate clearly by articulating ideas, requirements, and technical concepts in an effective and concise manner a commitment to driving quality by continuously improving processes, monitoring performance, and ensuring high standards in deliverables excellence written and verbal English.


You are a perfect match if you also have:

 

knowledge of additional monitoring tools and platforms beyond NewRelic

understanding of cloud infrastructure and services, such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud

proficiency in scripting languages like Python, Bash, or PowerShell for automation and data manipulation

knowledge of various network protocols and their applications in performance monitoring.
