We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic intern to join our Barclays Center Arena team in Brooklyn, NY ! The intern will have the opportunity to gain valuable hands-on experience while contributing to various projects. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES : What You Will Do + Assist in conducting workplace risk assessments, safety audits, and inspections to identify hazards and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations. + Support the development and implementation of occupational health and safety (OHS) policies, procedures, and training programs. + Participate in incident investigations to identify root causes and recommend corrective actions to prevent recurrence. + Help maintain records related to workplace incidents, training, inspections, and safety equipment maintenance. + Research and stay up-to-date with local, state, and federal OHS laws and regulations (e.g., OSHA, EPA, etc.) and provide summaries or recommendations to the team. + Assist with the preparation and distribution of compliance reports, documentation, and presentations. + Collaborate with internal teams to promote a safety-first culture through awareness campaigns and initiatives. + Monitor and ensure adherence to company environmental health and safety (EHS) policies and practices. + Support the management of safety programs, such as ergonomics, hazardous materials handling, personal protective equipment (PPE), and emergency response. + Assist in preparing safety communications, newsletters, and training materials. CANDIDATE PROFILE : Who You Are The Occupational Health, Safety, and Regulatory Compliance Intern will assist in promoting and maintaining a safe and healthy workplace environment while ensuring compliance with all applicable regulatory standards. The intern will gain hands-on experience in implementing safety programs, conducting risk assessments, and supporting compliance initiatives within [Company/Organization Name]. This role is ideal for individuals passionate about workplace safety, risk management, and regulatory compliance. KEY COMPETENCIES : Skills You Posses s + Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Public Health, Regulatory Compliance, or a related field. + Basic understanding of occupational health and safety principles, regulations, and risk management. + Strong organizational skills with attention to detail. + Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). + Strong written and verbal communication skills. + Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment. + Analytical and problem-solving skills with a proactive mindset. Preferred Skills: + Familiarity with OSHA, EPA, or other safety-related standards and regulatory frameworks. + Prior experience or coursework in workplace safety, environmental health, or compliance programs. + Experience with data analysis and reporting tools is a plus.
