Occupational Health LPN or RN - 2nd Shift

This position is in Cargill’s protein and salt business, where we provide wholesome, high-quality food products to a wide range of customers, from foodservice operators and grocery stores to manufacturers and exporters.

Job Purpose and Impact

The RN/LPN will perform occupational health care activities. In this role, you will provide health and wellness training and education, employee health services, and compliance. Qualified candidates must be licensed to practice nursing in Virginia/compact state. This position will primarily support our protein processing facility in Dayton, VA, but may also support local satellite locations in Harrisonburg and Mount Crawford, VA. This position will support our 2nd shift operations, with a daily schedule from 3:00pm - 11:00pm. 

Key AccountabilitiesUse technical knowledge and training, and assist in designing and executing employee health and wellness programsConduct safety and ergonomic training and administer drug and alcohol programsTreat, evaluate, and assess employee illness or injury and determine medical directionDevelop, formulate, and implement plans of care based on stand order and medical directivesHelp determine what employees can do under restrictive duty, when they can return to work, and when to refer them to an outside medical providerSupport record keeping in accordance with relevant regulationsHandle basic issues and problems under direct supervision, while escalating more complex issues to appropriate staffOther duties as assigned

QualificationsMinimum QualificationsRight to work in the U.S. that is not based solely on possession of a student visa or a visa sponsored by a third-party employer Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experienceLPN licensed in Virginia/compact state plus 2 years of experience in occupational health, ER, urgent care, or similar, OR RN licensed in Virginia/compact state
Preferred QualificationsBilingual in English/any language (Spanish, Khurdish, or Arabic preferred)Experience working in an occupational health environment
